Petro-Hunt conducts our crude oil refining operations on the downstream side through a stand-alone entity, Placid Refining Company, L.L.C. The refinery is strategically located in Port Allen, Louisiana, across the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge.
The location provides access to three common carrier pipelines, direct pipeline access to the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and on-site company-owned marine docks for receiving crude oil supplies. Commissioned in 1975, the refinery is one of the newest in the country. It is truly a state-of-the-art 75,000 BOPD facility, operating with an on-site natural gas co-generation system that provides a significant portion of the company’s steam and electrical requirements.
The refinery produces transportation fuels that are distributed across the Southeastern United States, from Louisiana to Virginia. The refinery also produces military jet fuel that is used in the United States’ defense efforts.
